My New Bedroom!

Ok, it's not exactly, my bedroom, yet!  But... I finally picked out how I am going to decorate my room in my new apartment in Philly!  I am ordering everything today and Mom & Dad will be in town next weekend to help me paint (same color as below) and put it all together with my things (so it will have a little bit of a different feel... no owls or rabbit figurines ;)!  I am so excited! Can't wait to show you photos!  PS. The curtains are my favorite!!!!

Friday's Fancies: {Little White Dress}

Happy Friday!! I am extra happy that it is finally the end of the week since I am going on vacation tomorrow!!  Do you guys have any fun plans this weekend?  For this week's fancies... {av} chose the little white dress theme!  Instead of pairing my white dress with some exotic brights or classic black, I chose a more sophisticated and "pretty" palette!  How beautiful would this be for a summer party?  I have a bridal shower next weekend, maybe this should be my inspiration!?!  If you know me well... you might think - this is a little 'matchy, matchy' for my taste - but I'm still loving it!  What do you think?  Oh... and wait until you see my inspiration for this outfit ;)  Just scroll down....

A Family Reunion at the Beach!

In two days I am heading to the beach in South Carolina for our family reunion! 22.5 of the most crazy, FABULOUS people will reunite in one beach house! We will be the clan sitting around in [22] beach chairs, soaking up sun, reading books, drinking beers, listening to music, watching the kiddos play and reminiscing about all of our summers growing up on the beach! My Aunt has even organized a “trip down memory lane” where I am sure we will walk to the lagoon and sit and tell our favorite beach stories!  My favorite story will definitely involve countless hours of floating (or wave jumping, depending on time of day) while gossiping with my cousin Terra who was just a year older than me! I am not sure what we talked about back then (I guess whatever 10 years old girls talk about), but those days were my favorite! Other favorite memories always include when I was at the beach with my mom, sister, cousins or mama! Oh, and definitely the first time I took my friends or a boyfriend to our place at the beach… It was always great to introduce them to what will forever be a tradition in the summers for my family!! 

I am only going for a few days since I just started my new job and decided that taking a week off just after starting was not the best decision… but still looking forward to every minute of it! Since it is low key family time, I am not packing much! All I need is a couple bathing suits, a couple dresses and my camera! Not even bringing a hair dryer or shoes (ok, well the flips I wear down there, but that is all!)  Can't wait to see my family and watch all of the little ones enjoy their cousins like I did!!! :)

I ♥ Bar Carts!

I have been looking everywhere for a cute, vintage, affordable bar cart for my new apartment! And… by affordable I mean, anything less than $1000!!! Who knew these beauties were so expensive! I was absolutely sticker shocked! Of course there are knock-off’s, but I want a beautiful gold one with glass and… well, you know, expensive looking – just not the crazy price tag for something that is only going to sit there looking pretty! But since that is impossible to find… I think I am going to go with this {one} and get cute gold accents instead! Here are some bar cart looks that I am loving!

Fridays Fancies: {Summer Chic}

Happy Friday!! I am so happy it is finally the weekend - I need a little time to relax (moving is too much work)!  Actually, I am going to spend my weekend unpacking and shopping for cute new things for my apartment!!  Oh, and I have brunch plans tomorrow morning at this place with bottomless bloody mary's (I would never turn down that invite ;) I am not going out tonight... but if I were, this outfit below would be my inspiration!  I actually just bought some green jeans from {anthropologie} this week and everyone who reads my blog knows how I feel about cream lace, so I am pretty sure I might just wear this outfit next week to work :)  I need to find a gorgeous neutral blazer like the one below!!
