A Painted 'To-Pack' List

I saw this on {pinterest} and fell in love!  This is Adolf Konrad's packing list in December 1973.  Who needs a scribbled post-it when you can just paint yourself a list!  I kind of want to get out a paintbrush for my beach trip I have coming up... but I would only need to paint one thing - a bathing suit! :)

First Day of Work {Recap}

After a pretty tough weekend - I was so excited to start my first day of work!  Oh... and by tough, I mean lots of sadness that I wasn't with all of my friends over the holiday weekend!  Tears just poured down my cheeks when my sister text me and said, "I started to say to Kyle today that we should have Ash over for a cookout, but then I remembered that you were gone :("  Ok... that just made me sad again!  Anyway, I woke up extra early today and was in the best mood - even made myself breakfast (which I don't think I have done... ever?!), then headed to the Navy Yard where the corporate offices are!  As I drove into the Yard (as they call it) I literally said out loud... "this is so cool"!  I seriously work at the most beautiful and unique place ever!  The morning was spent at orientation and filling out paper work, but at lunch time I got to meet my team!  I couldn't be more thrilled with the people I get to work with and everything with the job so far! :)  It was an excellent first day!!  For my A&F friends (that I miss dearly) - I saw two girls today wearing the same {gilly bra} as a layering piece and I secretly got really, really excited ;)  Also, I never thought I would say this, but it is going to be a huge adjustment to not have the music playing loudly as I work!  I was sitting there today thinking, "there is something missing" and I realized it was just too quiet!  Haha! :) I'll keep you guys updated occasionally... but in the mean time I will be back with new blog posts on the many things I love!  xxoo  **PS. There are two blog posts below that are "new" because I forgot to have them scheduled and was having internet issues the past couple days! Enjoy!

Free People

Today is my first day of work at  the {Free People} home office... so I thought I would share some of my favorite looks by my new company! Ok, I may or may not have a slight obsession with anything cream or lace right now! There is totally a difference between the four cream tops I have shown below ;) - maybe! I am so anxious to start work - my two week "unemployment" break was absolutely amazing (and very much needed), but I'm ready to get back to reality!  Wish me luck... I hope I love it!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy, Happy 4th!  One of my favorite holidays ever.... there is nothing like getting together with family and friends in the middle of summer to bbq, drink and watch fireworks!  Since this is moving weekend for me... I kind of celebrated my 4th of July on Friday with Columbus' annual Red, White and Boom!  But... since I have been to Philly there has already been all kinds of holiday festivities!  It is kind of neat to be in one of the original cities with so much history during this holiday!  Hope you have a safe and wonderful day! Goodbye, Columbus!

Yesterday was moving day... and it was a lot harder to leave Columbus than I thought!  But.. I am all settled into my short term housing in Philly and I already found a super cute apartment that I will move into in a few weeks!  It is an older apartment in {Old City} but has a lot of character including exposed brick walls (which I have always loved)!  Oh, and I lucked out with the closet space as well... aka I can go shopping, everyday, to fill the closets! :)  After finding an apartment, I headed over to the {Jonathan Adler} store (just a block away from my new place) and bought myself a housewarming present - just the perfect orange chevron rug for my new kitchen!  So excited :)  Well... back to my last week in Columbus - it was great to have time off, to go to happy hours at normal happy hour times and to get together with all my friends before I left :)  A big thank you to my sister who helped me pack up a lot of things... and to my "super MOM" who always goes above and beyond everytime I move.  ex. She drove with me to Philly this weekend... moved me into my short term apt, she is meeting my movers at my place in OH next week, then she is coming back to Philly to help me move into my "real" apartment... REALLY, how did I get so lucky?! :)  Anyway - I miss you already Columbus and I will see you in just a few short months!  Lots of love to everyone back in Ohio :)  Muah!

Kenny Concert Photos

Last weekend my best friend, Ashley, came to visit me from Portland!!  We had a blast!!  On Saturday we went to the Kenny Chesney concert with my sister and friends!  While Ash and I went for the tailgate, sun and people watching -- my sister went because she is absolutely head over heals in love with Kenny!  This was her 15th Kenny concert!!! Well, this time we had sand bar tickets... which is the spot right in front of the stage!  Amanda (sister) clung onto that stage until her dreams came true... and she got to touch Kenny's hand!! Oh, and by touch... I mean, she held on so tight, I think he had to shake her off! :)  It was fun to see her so happy!! After that, we headed away from the stage and danced all night!  Below are some photos from the tailgate (instagramed of course).... What a fun day!! 

 PS. Yes, we did tailgate with Bottles of Skinny Girl Margaritas and Moonshine! :)

Ashley Gale Photography: German Village Mini Sessions

As soon as I found out I was moving, I had to set up a day of mini sessions with some of my favorite kiddos and their families!  We met in German Village and had a blast playing in the park, on a playground and in (yes, in) the fountain... I even got to take photos at my favorite ice cream shoppe!!  Here is a sneak peak for the beautiful families :)  PS. I will be setting up Fall Mini Sessions the morning of October 1st when I will be back in Columbus for a visit!  Can't wait...

New Job. New City.

Hi Friends!  So I have been kind of keeping a secret for a little bit... but since it is already out in the world of Facebook, I thought I should tell all of my blog friends as well!  I am picking up my life in Ohio and moving to the East Coast... this weekend!!  Philadelphia to be exact :)  I am so excited... but a little nervous because I don't know a single person in Philly!  Not too nervous though... because the more people I tell, the more I hear about 'friends of friends'!  Plus, I will only be an hour -ish from NYC (lot of friends there), an hour from Baltimore (friends and family there), and an hour from the BEACH!!  The beach is my best friend!! :) Anyway... so why this big change?!  I was looking to get back to a bigger city and I was ready for a new challenge in my career.  I've worked in corporate retail as a buyer/planner for the past 6 years and I absolutely love it... but I'm off to continue what I love to do at {Free People}, part of Urban Outfitters, Inc.  I start working there next Tuesday!! So exciting!!  Check out my new office space... who wouldn't enjoy working here everyday?! :)  Wish me luck...

Oh... and another great perk about working at Urban Outfitters is that you can bring your dog to work! I don't have a dog (well, our family dog, but he lives with mom and dad)... but I can't wait to be surrounded by cute pups everyday!  Maybe I will finally get the english bull dog I have been wanting for the past ten years!!  Also... if you want another fabulous blog to follow... check out Free People's blog {here} - It has been one of my favorites before I even started interviewing there! xo.
