Growing up I always wanted a Volkswagen Beetle for my 16th birthday! Specifically, a yellow lime green one from 1979! Don't ask why - no one really knows where this came from... but I think this idea generated about the same time that I wished I lived in the 60's and was a hippie and went to the original Woodstock and burned inscents and wanted peace sign everything! Oh, my poor parents! :) Well... I never got the yellow bug from 1979, however, I still get just as excited if I see a vintage one driving around! Come on, you can't say that these images below don't make you want one for yourself! :) PS. Happy almost birthday to my friend Kristin - a VW Bug owner herself!!

I've always loved the older style Bugs! & there was a time in my life that I wished I was a hippie, too!
I used to always want a vintage yellow bug too. Convertible. Always thought they were the best.

I just went to the launch parties for the new, new VW Beetle and am totally in love with it. It has the lines of the vintage Beetle, keeping the nostalgic factor while also being totally new and sporty.

I absolutely love the post. I had always wanted a bug, didn't care what year or color. I JUST WANTED A BUG. Well a few months ago, I walked into our garage and there was a black 63 bug. I cried tears of joy and jumped up and down, I was so happy. So, now it is still is black and has bubble gum pink side panels. I have luggage for it and now I am looking for a surfboard. I think you would like it. It is a dream come true.
