Vintage Stamps

I love letters!  Actually, I love anything paper related.  I still have every single card that was ever given to me, categorized by year in pretty boxes that live in a hope chest.  But... I have an extra special box with all of my favorite letters, invites and other beautiful paper items (wedding programs, menus, etc)!  Yes, I am that person that you are not wasting your money on when you spend a little extra on an announcement or invitation!  I love them!  My newest obsession - gorgeous envelops with vintage stamps!  I can guarentee if I received this in the mail, I would stare at it for days and might not open it!

Here's another original thing you can do with your envelopes!  I first saw this in an email that Martha Stewart sent me (not personally).... but recently saw it again on {pinterest}!

But back to the vintage stamps - love, love, love! I think I am going to tuck this idea away for Christmas cards or potential wedding invites in the future!  Anyone know where I can start collecting these stamps?  I know there is always eBay, but has anyone seen them at Flea Markets?  Just fabulous....

I love vintage stamps! I think it would be cool to do a wall display of stamps! I actually buy my stamps from USPS website so I can buy anything other than the traditional bell stamp! Right now I'm rockin comic stamps and a few of Katherine Hepburns mugshot. :)

Great post thanks so much for sharing!

Oh I am swooning over the beautiful calligraphy, the stamps, and the envelopes on these!! I am just like you - I have all the mail I've ever received in beautiful hat boxes in my closet at my parents' house. Getting mail is one of the best things!!

eBay is your best bet - and something I didn't think of when I started looking into them---they need be "new and unpostmarked." LOTS of people sell vintage ones that are used.

LOVE the beautiful caligraphy, I wouldn't want to open them because they would get ruined! :-) People need to bring back hand-written notes and love letters!

So beautiful! My grandmother collected letters from her 20s which were in the 30s and we kept all the addressed envelopes and letters and framed them accordingly.

I actually have a vintage stamp collection that was started before I was born...in 1975. I'm sorry, I can't share, it's worth millions! JK, but I know it's worth something. :)
