Friday's Fancies: {White Christmas / Spring Green}

It's the Friday before Christmas and I am home at my parent house in Kentucky!  It is not white outside in this part of the country... but I can dream that I will wake up on Christmas morning and there will be snow on the ground!  Too bad we aren't in Cleveland anymore, you could almost guarantee a white Christmas there, every year! But... even with the temps in the high 40's, I couldn't help but join in on {av}'s Friday's Fancies fun and create my own white Christmas inspiration... except when I was browsing for inspiration, it kind of turned into a white and green post... I mean a spring green post! :) Happy almost Christmas, I mean, Spring... well, I guess I really mean, happy almost spring clothes arriving in the stores, but it's still way too cold to wear them!!! xxoo.

I'll take one of each please!! :)

Beach Memories

For Christmas, my mom and her siblings put together an amazing scrapbook of beach photos dating back to the 60's for my Grandma!  (Shoot... I really hope this isn't the day my Mama learns how to get on the internet to read my blog ;) Since I helped them beautify the book right before printing, I was able to get a sneak peak at all of the photos and letters they included in the book!  Here are a few of my favorites! :)

Holiday Cheer for a little Wednesday Pick-Me-Up!!

Happy Wednesday!  I have been looking forward to this day for weeks because I finally get to hang out with my boy after his last final of the semester - stress free!  We are celebrating Christmas together tonight before we both head home (in different directions) to see our families tomorrow!  I absolutely can't wait to give him his stocking... I think he might love it :)  His other gifts are wonderful too.. but there is just something about that stocking I am obsessed with!  Oh... and only 4 more days until Christmas - which means only 4 more days of crazy holiday posts in the blog world until we all change our focus and start blogging about SPRING!! ;) xxoo!

Holiday Nails

I saw these manicure photos on {love Maegan} and fell in love - not sure if it is because of the sparkles on her nails... or those sparkly rings on her fingers!! Either way... I think I am going to pull out the glitter nail polish this weekend!  xxoo!

Stocking Stuffers - My favorite! :)

Stockings are my favorite thing about Christmas morning!  I am not sure why... maybe I like the mystery of what I am going to pull out next... or maybe it is because Santa does an amazing job stuffing my stocking with useful small gifts, beauty essentials, gift cards, candy and lottery tickets! Below are some fun things I wouldn't mind receiving in my stocking this year! ;)  PS. magnetic lenses for the iPhone... you have got to be kidding me - AMAZING!  ...and leopard happy socks (not shown but link below)...  I'm obsessed :)  xxoo.

My Christmas Wishlist ♥

Hi Blog Friends!  I truly hope you enjoyed my '12 Days of Christmas' series and that it gave you a lot of good gift giving ideas... I know I shopped from a few of the lists! :)  Hopefully you aren't too sick of wish lists just yet - because I had to share my own with you as well!  I have had an ever-growing wish list ever since I can remember.  Actually, when I was younger I would run out of room on my own wish list so I would convince my sister that I needed to write out her list for Santa too (and of course added everything that didn't fit on my own list ;)!  Mom and Dad caught on very quickly... But even though I always have long, elaborate lists - Santa is very good to me each year! I am truly grateful for the presents under the tree on Christmas morning because that is only a very small part of what Christmas is all about!! Hope you enjoy my holiday wishes and that you and your families have a very....

Check back tomorrow for my stocking stuffers post - my absolute favorite, favorite part about Christmas morning! :)  xxoo!  :)

Hoosiers!

My blog is not a sports blog... nor do I plan to blog about sports much going forward - but I am just STILL so excited about the big win my alma mater pulled this past Saturday!  Not only is it a huge deal that IU just beat the #1 ranked team in college basketball, but they also beat Kentucky - a school rival as well as a personal rival since all of my family members bleed blue!  ESPN wrote about how the students reacted after the last 3 seconds of the game perfectly... and the videos are a must watch, they will make you wish you were back in college instantly!  Personally, I love the videos so much because in 2001 I was in the middle of the madness just like the many students in these videos... and the excitement and loyalty at IU during basketball season (especially a good season) is something you can never describe to anyone!
How excited were Indiana fans? This excited...
When your once-elite program is down as long as Indiana has been down -- unranked for 1,372 days, the longest stretch in school history, with win totals of six, 10 and 12 games per season in each of the past three years -- and you upset the No. 1 team in the country in your own building, naturally, you, the fan, is going to be excited. Describing just how excited Indiana fans were after Saturday's win is, well, difficult. "Ecstatic" gets close. "Exuberant" is right there. But neither word, and none of their synonyms, can capture quite what the win touched off in Bloomington, Ind. Saturday night. For that, we go to the wonder of social media and homemade video. The first comes from inside Nick's, a classic college bar in Bloomington, where one Vimeo user had the foresight to get his camera-phone rolling just before Indiana forward Christian Watford hit the game-winning three.

The next comes from just outside Nick's -- you'll see the marquee in the video -- on Kirkwood Street in Bloomington, a batch of downtown bars and restaurants located just off Indiana's campus. Forget partying in the bars. Indiana students were on some next-level outdoor love-in swagger Saturday night:

Indiana students have been waiting a long time for something to celebrate (besides, you know, a home win over Illinois). On Saturday night, finally, they got it. And they certainly held up their end of the bargain.

....and so did the many Alumni across the country! We love our Hoosiers!!

12th Day of Christmas: {Strong Sense of Style}

Thanks so much Ashley, for having me round out the 12th Day of Christmas!  I hope all of you haven't finished shopping yet as I've got some super gift ideas for those you love or for you.  These are all things that showed up on my personal list so fingers crossed that Mom and Hubs find their way over to a {little} dash of ash!

The gifts are fun for sure, but the holidays mean so much more to me.  Togetherness with family, fellowship with friends and holiday merriment make this time of year so special.  Plus, I am looking forward to our first Christmas together in Houston!

Instagram: URBN Holiday Party

Happy Monday! Last week we had our Urban Outfitter's corporate holiday party and I just had to share a few photos with you...  It was a masquerade theme party decked out to the max and a very fun evening with my co-workers!  Hope you had a great weekend!

11th Day of Christmas: {Six Twelve Place}

Hi Dash of Ash readers!  I'm Lesley from SIX TWELVE PLACE.  Ashley's Twelve Days of Christmas series has been so much fun to follow and I am thrilled to be a part of it!  The holidays still bring me as much excitement as they did when I was a child.  I love the twinkling lights, the newness of winter weather, the parties, the gathering of loved ones near and far and just the overall magic of the holiday season!  Although it has been years since I've written a letter to Santa, I think my letter this year would go something like this...

 These cashmere lined gloves are the perfect combination of warmth and luxe, and I love the punchy color!  I'm still lusting over this Chloe bag, but I think this J. Crew satchel is a beautiful, classic and much more affordable option. I am in desperate need of a new wallet and I think this one by Rebecca Minkoff is perfect.  How cute is the big tassel on the back, Santa?! Utterly obsessed and 100% in love with this Lauren Elan necklace. Now that winter is here, it is time to upgrade my Lulu wunder under crops to the full pant. As a Texas girl turned recent Chicagoan, my winter wardrobe is sub par.  Adding these ear muffsthis turtleneck and these shearling lined duck boots would be a great addition to my winter wear. I've been wishing for a pair of Current Elliot boyfriend jeans for a while and I think the darker wash of the roller version is pretty great. I would love a fun new band for my watch. Everything you need for a winter weekend spent inside: faux fur throwcomfy striped leggingscozy moccasin slippers and the complete series of Friends. And a few wishlist items: black taffeta skirt, the perfect black pumps and a major camera upgrade!

Santa, if you could even bring just one or two of these items to 612 Place
I promise to love you forever.
Love your biggest fan,
Lesley

10th Day of Christmas: {Bijou and Boheme}

Hi there dashers, it's Christine here and I'm SO excited to be taking part in Ashley's splendid 12 Days of Christmas crawl.  For me the holidays is all about my kids... watching their faces light up on Christmas morning is pretty much the happiest couple of hours I can imagine at this point... joy x a million. Of course, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I LOVE the 'me' prezzies as well. This year my list is all about the pink, gold and black... you're shocked by this aren't you...likely not;) If you're reading this Santa and/or husband, I particularly NEED # 2, 5 and 12... of course all 17 would be even better;)

Hello a {little} dash of ash' readers! I am so excited to be sharing with all of you my dream holiday wishlist. Some of these items I am double crossing my fingers for, and some, I am hoping Santa will magically drop upon my doorstep. I can only hope!
Christmas time is one of my absolute favorite time of the year. It's a time for giving, sharing, laughing,coming together with family and friends, and most of all, making memories. AND it the one time during the year (besides my birthday), that I can request all the things I ever wanted, like some of these....

Friday's Fancies: {Tree Farm Date}

Happy Friday everyone! I know I say this every week, but I am so happy it is almost the weekend!! This week’s {Friday’s Fancies} theme is holiday parties, but I’ve decided that I’ve already posted enough about sparkly dresses and wanted to share a little more of a rustic inspiration… Christmas Tree Shopping!! I am obsessed with my Christmas tree, but I’ve never had a real tree (maybe because I’ve always lived in small city apartments).  But... I absolutely can’t wait until the first time I get to go to a Christmas tree farm to cut down my first tree (dreaming… so obviously it has to be snowing out… and I will need a warm cup of starbucks in my hand… and a good lookin' man to carry our tree ;)!!  I’m officially making this a tradition... next year?!?!

8th Day of Christmas: {Little Bits of Lovely}

Hello friends of a {Little} Dash of Ash, it's Rachel here from Little Bits of Lovely. I'm thrilled that Ash asked me to participate in the 12 Days of Christmas series and to be sharing my wish list with you!

Christmas is my favourite holiday of the year as it means I get to spend time with my family and eat way too much delicious food. My mother, being the amazing cook and organiser that she is, spends weeks planning the meal and then the days leading up to Christmas preparing the feast. Christmas is a very different affair than my friends in the northern hemisphere would be used to - it is generally extremely hot and sticky and the trick is to try and keep as cool as you can - whether that be taking a dip in the pool or downing plenty of refreshments.

I have to admit, I had way to much fun putting this wish list together; I hope you enjoy it!

May you and your family have a most wonderful Christmas.

Rachel xo

7th Day of Christmas: {Sequins and Stripes}

Hi there! It's Liz from the fashion and style blog, Sequins & Stripes, and I am thrilled to be sharing my holiday wish list for Ashley's "12 Days of Christmas" series! To me, the holidays signify family and friends, pj's and cozy socks, baking cookies, Christmas carols, fresh snow, Christmas lights, and gifts of love. I look forward to the holidays the entire year, and I love that Christmas day allows for everyone to escape from reality and get completely wrapped up in the magic of the day. The spirit of the season usually hits around Thanksgiving, where I begin to compile my wish list for the holidays. With all of the fabulousness available this year, my list has gotten a bit out of control. That being said, here are a few of my favorite things on my list this Christmas...

My fingers are crossed for the Rocco Duffle Bag, Calypso St. Barth Fur Funnel, Kate Spade Playing Cards + J.Crew Glitter iPhone Case {mom, are you reading?}

A HUGE thank you to Ashley for putting together this amazing series, I am sure my list will triple after reading through the rest of these fabulous bloggers' wish lists! Don't forget to stop by Sequins & Stripes to find your daily dose of fashion, style, and my Week of Gift Giving! Happy Holidays!
